The AOD Hub

This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting and innovative new service funded by NSW Health and delivered in partnership with Armajun Aboriginal Health Service. The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Hub will provide specialist, culturally responsive treatment and support across the New England region, focusing on rural and regional communities. Together with Armajun and other local service providers, we will support people with AOD concerns, co-occurring mental health conditions, those at risk of homelessness, Aboriginal people, and people in contact with the criminal justice system.

Your Role

As an AOD Care Navigator, you will provide person-led, culturally appropriate, evidence-based care. This includes assessments, care planning, case management, and coordinating with service providers. You will deliver support in person, by phone, and online, ensuring clients are linked to the right health, community, and support services. You will also contribute to group programs, maintain accurate records, and participate in care coordination meetings. The role involves regular travel within the region and flexibility to work from Armajun offices in Inverell, Glen Innes, or Tenterfield.

Profile description:

You Will Need

• Certificate IV or higher in welfare/community services or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting vulnerable or marginalised people, including those experiencing homelessness
• Strong understanding of alcohol and other drug issues and local support services
• Ability to build relationships with government agencies and NGOs
• Excellent communication, documentation, and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Sound judgement in crisis situations
• Current NSW driver licence
