The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for an enthusiastic and team-orientated individual to join the Corporate Services Procurement Team. The successful applicant will support DCS Corporate Procurement to provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders to plan, source, and manage procurement and contract management services to effectively meet business outcomes and government directions.

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive and collaborative team. The right applicant will be a team player willing to hit the ground running, who can work autonomously and as part of a team.

About Us

This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Corporate Procurement Team which services the DCS cluster. The team sits within the Corporate Services Division of DCS, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for DCS. Corporate Procurement has three functions within the team: Business Partnering, Sourcing, and Centre of Excellence. This role sits within the Sourcing team and reports to a Senior Sourcing Manager, who reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively engage with business to facilitate development of appropriate procurement plans with scope, timelines and accountabilities, gathering/challenging requirements to understand business needs and facilitate procurement actions
  • Compile and source market information to analyse markets and assess risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions
  • Organise and manage high value/risk sourcing events, facilitating negotiations, developing documents for tenders, contracts etc, recommending best value for money suppliers in line with the corporate sourcing strategies and policies to meet business needs and deliver successful procurement outcomes
  • Provide support to the business to successfully conduct low value/risk sourcing events, guiding, and assisting in the efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximise profitability
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods and services at the best prices applying extensive market/category knowledge to ensure best value for money outcomes
  • Provide high quality contract management services including administering contract management plans, negotiating changes and modifications, and ensuring compliance requirements to achieve the required contract outcomes
  • Accurate records management in line with DCS Corporate Procurement's records management policy and procedure

You are genuinely passionate about procurement with demonstrable experience delivering excellence in governance, guidelines and processes which inform sustainable procurement and enhanced user experience. You are committed to your team and are flexible and reliable when your help is needed.
