About The Role
Join McConnell Dowell as we embark on a new, high-profile water infrastructure project delivering critical assets to support one of Sydney's key growth corridors.

Initially based at our North Sydney head office, complete with harbour views and easy access to the Metro, you'll then mobilise to the Upper North Shore project site as construction gets underway.

As Health & Safety Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in setting the tone for safety excellence from day one, working alongside a passionate project team to ensure every activity is delivered safely, compliantly, and with care for our people and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day safety engagement across construction and support personnel.
  • Partner with Supervisors and Engineers to identify, assess and control risks.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Support subcontractor onboarding, inductions and compliance checks.
  • Champion proactive safety communication through toolbox and pre-start meetings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and building a strong, positive HSE culture.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in health and safety within construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of WHS Acts, Regulations and contemporary risk management.
  • Confident communicator able to influence at all levels and build trusted relationships.
  • Passionate about creating a culture where "Safety starts at Recruitment" and continues every day.
