About the opportunity:

We're looking for a dedicated Grounds and Maintenance Officer to help keep our retirement village running smoothly and looking its best. In this hands-on role, you'll complete general building maintenance, use equipment like ride on movers and tractors and manage the upkeep of our beautifully landscaped garden areas, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for residents, visitors, and staff alike.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and organise contractors when needed
  • Care for lawns, gardens, paths, and outdoor areas to a high standard
  • Carry out routine tasks like rubbish removal, gutter cleaning, watering, pruning, and planting
  • Maintain tools and ensure safe handling of equipment and chemicals
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, support regulatory compliance, and uphold safety procedures
  • Assist with stock control and basic admin such as processing invoices and keeping registers updated
  • Work as part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team that values cooperation and respect

About you:

  • Experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, or handyman work (retirement village or aged care experience highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Standards and requirements relevant to grounds and maintenance work
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or current Police Check Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current valid driver's licence
  • Basic computer literacy for record keeping
  • A warm and respectful attitude towards older people
