Cathara Consulting is an Australian-based Consulting firm specialising in Business Transformations and Technology Consulting.

Our Northern Territory based client is seeking a Mainframe Developer who will provide mainframe application support and development for the commercial-of-the-shelf Accounting System which is underpinned by Infor Masterpiece, Datacom and CICS.

12-month contract and Early October start

This role is based in Darwin and hybrid working is an option for this role.

The successful candidate will be required to liaise with the Data Centre Services and software vendors for business-as-usual and technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code according to specifications.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive working experience with COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS and Datacom
  • Knowledge and experience with Atlassian JIRA in managing ticket requests, workload and documentation
  • Ability to work in a team environment working with other developers and business analysts/subject matter experts
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

Desirable Skills:

  • knowledge of Atlassian Confluence
  • Knowledge or awareness of banking
