Business Operations Manager

Our member is a leader in their field providing project management consultancy focusing on scheduling and cost control for their clients. They specialise in traditional and digital methods to execute complex and mega projects successfully. Due to their success, they are seeking a Business Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering the essential business functions that are needed for the company to be compliant and effective.

The Operations team supports the delivery of the consulting side of the business with a multidisciplinary team comprising Finance, IT, Security, and HSEQ professionals. In addition to the leadership of that team this role is accountable for delivering the more complicated parts of those functions invoicing, management reports, project setup, on/off boarding, delivering continuous improvements, reviewing outputs from those functions, and representing business operations at the highest levels of management.

This is a company who are digital and tech savvy. There is a requirement for you to be hands on in the position, have a passion for data, are pedantic about a high standard and has experience of consulting companies.

The role:

• Accountable for the development and implementation of innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the business systems.
• Drive continuous improvement in the operation of business systems through the implementation of automation workflows and consolidating data to single sources of truth.
• Develop and maintain a roadmap for system improvements, prioritising initiatives based on business impact and resource availability.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the business systems team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and genuine project output.
• Manage and optimise Security, HSE, Financial, and Quality systems to maintain the highest standards.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for system enhancement and risk mitigation.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of software and tools that enhance internal processes and productivity.
• Development and ownership of accurate internal company reports that provide a comprehensive view of staff dynamics, client engagements, profit and loss, and forecasting.
• Drive financial accountability and performance across the business.
• Support in the development, implementation and tracking of KPIs and metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness of financial strategies across the business.
• Lead the analysis of financial data, providing actionable insights and recommendations for business optimisation and growth.
• Mentor and coach team, offering guidance, support, and constructive feedback to team members to ensure they are working at their best.
• Strive for cohesion and synergy within the team, promoting seamless collaboration and project execution via a remote management style.

What you'll bring:

• Certified Practising Accountant or experience with Business Accounting practices or comparable degree.
• Power BI/Data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of requirements a HSE and Quality Management System.
• Previous experience working in a consulting business management role or work within a consulting company.
• Knowledge of process improvement methods.
• Project Management Skillset to manage scope, schedule, budget, and risks/opportunities.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a remote digital environment without losing impact.
• System administrator skills to manage HR (rippling), Project Management (Clickup), Financial tools (Xero) and CRM (Freshworks).
• Knowledge of profit and loss and balance sheets.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on innovative and pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to obtain an Australian Federal security clearance.
