About the Role

We're looking for an experienced legal professional to step into a key senior role within our Legal team. As
Senior Legal Counsel - Competition & Regulatory
, your focus will be advising on and navigating the complex competition and regulatory landscape in which we operate. You'll play a central role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, influencing strategic decision-making, and supporting the business in engaging with regulators and other stakeholders.

This role reports directly to the General Counsel - Wagering & Corporate and offers high visibility and impact. You'll partner with senior executives, shape strategic initiatives, and provide clear, commercially focused legal guidance.

More specifically, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice on competition law, consumer law, and other regulatory requirements affecting our operations.
  • Monitor, interpret, and advise on legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring the business is informed and prepared.
  • Advise on regulatory engagement strategies, including dealings with the ACCC and other relevant authorities.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to support product development, marketing, and commercial initiatives with proactive legal input.
  • Translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal teams.
  • Manage and brief external counsel on complex competition and regulatory matters, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

About You

You're a confident and commercially minded legal advisor with a strong background in competition and regulatory law. You think strategically, communicate clearly, and influence decisively. You bring:

  • Significant post-admission experience, ideally from a top-tier law firm and/or senior in-house legal role.
  • Proven expertise in competition law and broader regulatory compliance.
  • Experience advising in complex, highly regulated industries.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach and sound legal judgement.
