Royal Far West is a Manly based non-government organisation that provides multidisciplinary health and wellbeing services for children from rural and remote NSW with developmental, behavioural, learning and mental health difficulties. Many of our employees work remotely providing services directly into schools via telehealth.
As a clinical psychologist, you will work alongside occupational therapists and speech pathologist delivering services to schools and preschools in set regions. A substantial portion of the caseload is weekly individual therapy via telehealth, and working with parents/carers and school staff to support student's individual needs. There are also opportunities to provide assessment services, group therapy and professional development to school staff. A typical day involves seeing 4-5 clients and attending a team or supervision meeting. The successful applicant will be required to participate in community visits one or twice per semester, providing an opportunity to build deeper relationships with clients, parents, carers and education staff, and to understand their local context firsthand.
We are passionate about continually improving the quality of our services, and provide all clinicians with access to individual and group supervision, and support to attend professional development activities. We are keen to support flexible working and can accommodate working from home (including fully remote staff), and part-time staff (a minimum of three days a week is preferred). Given we deliver services to schools, clinicians can easily request to take additional leave during school holiday periods.
