This newly created
Senior HR Business Partner
role offers the opportunity to shape and influence the organisation's people strategy at a senior level. Reporting directly to the People & Culture Lead, you'll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives, driving initiatives that strengthen engagement, build capability, and ensure compliance. With a direct report to support you, you'll balance strategic projects with hands-on leadership in complex employee relations and industrial relations matters.
The opportunity
Based at the Gold Coast (Helensvale) HQ, with flexibility to work across offices and only one monthly site visit, this role provides scope to lead high-impact HR initiatives while partnering closely with the business. You'll be the key contact for senior stakeholders on ER/IR, remuneration, leadership capability, and organisational development programs that drive performance and culture.
You'll also:
- Lead investigations and resolve complex ER matters with discretion and authority.
- Provide expert IR advice, including award interpretation, EBAs, and Fair Work compliance.
- Drive strategic workforce planning, remuneration reviews, and compliance frameworks.
- Design and deliver leadership and capability programs to build a high-performing culture.
- Lead engagement, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives that strengthen retention and culture.
- Partner with senior managers and executives to embed best-practice HR solutions across the business.
- Contribute to recruitment strategies for critical roles and succession planning.
What you bring
- Previous experience in construction, engineering, or heavy industry - essential.
- 5–8+ years' HR experience, including strong exposure to complex ER and IR.
- Demonstrated capability partnering with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR outcomes.
- Strong understanding of industrial frameworks, EBAs, and award interpretation.
- Proven track record in project delivery, change management, and culture initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
