Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Projects Team at Moolarben Coal Mine. Reporting to the Projects Technical Superintendent, the role will be an important member of the Projects Team to coordinate projects with stakeholders across OC, CHPP and UG during project lifecycle and assist in contract management, quality assurance and delivery. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and schedule project requirements from OC, CHPP, and UG teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, quality control and budgets in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support for the delivery teams during projects construction.
- Assist in future planning activities including feasibility studies, design reviews, and rehabilitation plans.
- Review of ITPs, NCR, RFI and Contractor Monthly progress claims.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standards, procedures and best practices for civil engineering for efficient project completion and within budget.
Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering or related discipline (Prefer Civil Engineering).
- Registration or membership with Engineers Australia or a similar professional body is preferred.
Essential Criteria
- Significant previous experience working with all aspects of project delivery in a coal mine setting.
- Experience in leading technical aspects of project development and delivery.
- Excellent computer skills and competence in the use of SAP, Microsoft office suite, AutoCAD, MS Project, Docusign (or similar).
- Ability to interpret and apply Australian Standards related to civil construction, earthworks, and safety (e.g., AS 3798, AS 1289).
- Excellent project administration skills.
- Sound knowledge of earthworks and survey principles.
- Drivers license.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of technical disciplines in project delivery management.
- Knowledge of statutory laws and regulations in mining design and construction.
- Ability to lead task-driven outputs within a project delivery function.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making for risk assessment and solution implementation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach to daily activities and challenges.
- Committed to self-development and continuous improvement in the Project function.
