About the role

MYXA' is seeking an Experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team. This is a casual position, providing flexible work arrangements to support our participants with a range of disability support services. As a Experienced Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support and assistance to participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and community access
  • Collaborating with participants, families, and other care professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans
  • Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote participant well-being and community inclusion
  • Maintaining detailed participant records and documentation to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Advocating for participant rights and ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience (minimum 2 years) providing disability support services in a SIL setting
  • Experienced in working with participants with challenging behaviours and complex support needs
  • Forensic Experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches and the ability to empower participants to achieve their goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with participants, families, and other stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing participant needs
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to meet the needs of our participants
