Australia Employment Hero Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Who we are

Employment Hero is on a mission to make employment easier and more valuable for everyone. Our Employment Operating System brings hiring, HR, payroll and benefits into an all-in-one solution.

Since our inception in 2014, we've scaled to a $2 billion valuation and gained a presence in 6 countries globally - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, the UK and Canada. We now service over 300,000 businesses and more than 2 million employees.

The EH Way

At Employment Hero, we're proud of our unique DNA, which we call The EH Way.

  1. We are Mission First - everything we do (from what we work on, to how we allocate capital and where we focus) is driven by our Mission
  2. We are Remote First - we champion a remote environment with a preference for asynchronous communication and a high degree of autonomy
  3. We are AI First - we are committed to using AI to accelerate our mission; AI is not just a tool, it's a fundamental part of how we operate, innovate, and scale
  4. We are Apolitical - we do not take a position on political or social topics, unless it relates to our Mission
  5. We Live by Our Values - we role model our values 100% of the time
  6. We Expect High Performance - we set a high standard and we're not satisfied with being average
This role

The Data & Workflow Automation Analyst owns the end-to-end workflow architecture that connects customer feedback to business action. They design, build, and maintain automated, bi-directional integrations across the survey platform (e.g., Qualtrics) and the company's core stack (Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, Snowflake, dbt, Slack, Tableau, EH Product Platform).

This role orchestrates both rule-based and agentic (AI-assisted) automation with strong governance — designing triggers, routing logic, deduplication, and error handling so that every customer signal results in the right task, owner, and deadline in the tools teams already use.

You'll be the architect of the workflows that close loops faster, activate promoters automatically, and make MPS signals measurable, trackable, and trusted.

This will include

Workflow Architecture & Design

  • Own the full workflow blueprint: triggers, routing rules, deduplication, prioritisation, and error handling.
  • Map and maintain bi-directional data flows between platforms (Qualtrics Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, Slack, Snowflake/dbt, Tableau, EH Product).
  • Ensure workflows are modular, versioned, and auditable, with clear documentation and rollback paths.
  • Design with privacy-by-design and compliance guardrails from the start.

Automation Deployment & Integration

  • Build and maintain automations using tools such as Make, Workato, , or native APIs.
  • Deploy agentic workflows where appropriate — LLM-based classification, response suggestion, and triage — with human approval workflows for low-confidence outputs.
  • Ensure "right first time" routing: no duplicate tickets, no orphaned tasks, no dropped loops.
  • Build logic for suppression, throttling, and prioritisation to prevent noise and maintain trust.

Close the Loop & Advocacy Systems

  • Automate detractor recovery workflows — creating tasks or tickets with SLAs, owners, and escalation paths.
  • Build always-on promoter journeys for advocacy — referrals, reviews, case studies, or community actions — and track measurable conversion.
  • Enable leaders to see status, ownership, and progress on recovery and advocacy actions in real time.

Operate the Closed-Loop System

  • Deploy automated recovery and advocacy workflows across all priority journeys.
  • Ensure detractors receive clear recovery actions (tickets, follow-ups, playbooks) and promoters trigger advocacy actions (referrals, reviews, case studies).
  • Track ownership, SLAs, and escalation paths for every response — close the loop fast and visibly.
  • Maintain measurement logic for re-surveying and validating change impact.

Make our Mission Actionable

  • Join MPS survey results with customer, product, and usage data to trigger smarter, more personalised actions.
  • Build feedback flows that create tickets or tasks automatically in operational systems (Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira).
  • Ensure all outcomes (actions taken, issues fixed, feedback resolved) are written back into data systems for reporting and re-measurement.
  • Partner with the Mission Program Analysts and Data Intelligence team to visualise impact in dashboards and reporting.

Govern Quality, Risk & Compliance

  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for all workflows to ensure reliability and traceability.
  • Maintain audit trails, version control, and change management records for every integration.
  • Establish error-handling and retry logic to minimise downtime and data loss.
  • Continuously test workflows, monitor success rates, and maintain performance dashboards.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with Data Platforms on integration design, schema mapping, and API performance.
  • Work with Mission Program Analysts to ensure workflows align with customer journeys and business rules.
  • Partner with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to maintain adherence to policies
  • Identify opportunities for new automations, improved data capture, and faster decision loops.
Who you are

To thrive at Employment Hero, you'll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you'll also bring

  • Strong technical background in workflow automation, integration, or data engineering.
  • Strong skillset in SQL & Python.
  • Experience with platforms such as Make, Workato, , Airflow, or Zapier for Enterprise, and APIs (REST, GraphQL).
  • Familiarity with data pipelines (dbt, Snowflake) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Understanding of CRM, support, and ticketing systems (Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira).
  • Experience working with survey or feedback platforms (Qualtrics preferred).
  • Basic understanding of LLMs or agentic workflows for classification, summarisation, or auto-response.
  • Strong documentation, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience designing for data privacy, security, and auditability.
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management — can translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.

Working Style, Principles & Expectations

  • Design for reliability. Every workflow should be observable, tested, and reversible.
  • Automate accountability. Every trigger creates an owned, time-bound action — no loose ends.
  • Build once, scale many. Modular workflows, reusable components, and standardised logic.
  • Guardrail AI. Use LLMs where they accelerate outcomes, with human-in-loop review for confidence and compliance.
  • Collaborate deeply. Partner across Data, Product, CX, and Tech to wire up the full system.
  • Document everything. Version control, audit trails, and clear ownership of every rule and integration.
  • Continuously improve. Monitor, optimise, and evolve as the MPS system matures.
