About Laing O'Rourke

Laing O'Rourke is a $6 billion international operation with 70 years of involvement in Australian construction and infrastructure, including nearly two decades under the Laing O'Rourke banner. The business delivers projects as diverse as the environments in which they are built, from high security military bases and major rail transport infrastructure projects, through to landmark buildings at the transport interface. About the role

In this role, you will leverage advanced technologies, tools, and processes to drive optimisation across multiple high-impact projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding project leaders toward data-driven decisions that enhance both project outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Transform your infrastructure project planning expertise into powerful client insights using cutting-edge methodology, and advanced analytical tools to deliver schedule intelligence, planning optimisation, and risk management insights for major infrastructure projects.
  • Put your planning knowledge to work in new ways - use our suite of advanced and AI-enabled technologies to dive deep into project schedules, spotting optimisation opportunities, resource bottlenecks, and schedule improvements that deliver real value for major infrastructure clients.
  • Master next-generation planning technology - learn to operate AI-enabled scheduling software and advanced analytics tools that turn complex project data into clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Work as part of a close-knit three-person team - collaborate with our Optimisation Lead and Solution Delivery Lead to transform your analysis into compelling client presentations and reports.
  • Apply your hard-earned project experience - use your understanding of how construction really works to ensure our recommendations are practical, achievable, and make sense in the real world of project delivery.

About you

  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in infrastructure projects.
  • 3+ years of hands-on site planning experience, including roles on major infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering or a related field;
  • Expert proficiency with Oracle P6 software and other project management tools.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling and project management principles.
  • A proven track record of identifying problems, developing solutions, and driving implementation to achieve project goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new innovative technologies and software.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Current AGSVA Clearance is preferred
