About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical
Data Analyst / Senior Analyst
to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to deliver actionable insights. This role involves working closely with various departments to enhance performance, optimise operations, and guide business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and prepare data from multiple sources.
- Analyse complex datasets and generate insights for business stakeholders.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Identify trends, risks, and operational opportunities using data-driven methods.
- Support data modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, marketing, and operations.
- Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assist in process improvements and data governance initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of strategies based on data insights.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, IT, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with Excel and at least one BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Knowledge of SQL or basic database querying.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- 2–5+ years' experience in data analysis (for Senior Analyst level).
- Familiarity with statistical methods or predictive modelling.
- Experience with Python or R for data manipulation.
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of Australian industry trends or regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience in finance, retail, FMCG, tech, or consulting is an advantage.
