About Us:

Quality First Constructions is a leading design and construction business creating exceptional spaces. We provide a fully integrated service from concept design to project completion.

We are a locally owned and run building company in Coolum Beach, on the Sunshine Coast. We are a dynamic young team, who specialise in custom residential new builds, multi-residential complexes, and light to medium commercial works including shop, office, industrial medical and hospitality fit outs.

The Role:

You will be working closely with our Design, Projects and Administration team, having an important part in the initial stages of our projects pre and post contract. Through our projects you would be required to work in collaboration with other team members to achieve best possible outcomes.

  • Analysing plans in order to estimate costs
  • Conduct site assessments and prepare accurate estimates, providing detailed reports and quotes
  • Submission of RFQ's
  • Creating accurate and detailed estimates
  • Building out and maintaining/updating estimating software with trade and supplier rates
  • Gaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Creating Purchase Orders
  • Material take-offs and orders in conjunction with our Contract Administrator
  • Keeping detailed records of communication with clients and subcontractors
  • Budget tracking of projects in conjunction with our accounts department
  • Maintain knowledge of building regulations and industry practices

Your Skills:

Relevant trade experience or education qualification (eg, Certificate IV in Building & Construction [estimation], Quantity Surveying or equivalent) would be ideal, but not essential.

  • At least 4 years experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Proven experience in estimating, scoping works, and generating reports
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods
  • Previous experience with estimating/take off software (we use Wunderbuild)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office i.e.. Word, Excel etc.
  • Good with Numbers
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
  • Get-it-done attitude
