General Manager – Medical Centre

Location: Dandenong

Employment Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead the overall operations and future growth of our well-established medical centre in Dandenong.

This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational oversight of the clinic. The General Manager will work closely with the owners, Practice Manager, and senior clinicians to ensure clinical services are supported by efficient systems, strong governance, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide high-level leadership and direction to the Practice Manager and administrative teams
  • Drive strategic planning, business development, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across clinical and administrative functions

Operations & Governance

  • Oversee day-to-day operational performance through the Practice Manager
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and refine policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

Financial & Business Management

  • Overall responsibility for financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Review billing systems, revenue streams, and efficiency measures
  • Work closely with accountants, banks, and external advisors

People & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Practice Manager and senior staff
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies
  • Promote a positive, professional, and patient-centred workplace culture
  • Manage complex staff matters and escalated conflict resolution

Stakeholder & External Relations

  • Act as the primary liaison with external service providers, suppliers, and professional partners
  • Support relationships with visiting specialists, allied health providers, and contractors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.00 – $43.00 per hour
