Currently, we are leading a significant hotel renovation on Lindeman Island, focusing on remediation and refurbishment.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified, skilled, and experienced Painter to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our construction project, working on the renovation of a large scale hotel.

You are expected to provide exceptional services that meet our stringent quality standards.

Job tasks and responsibilities

As a Painter on this project, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks/holes, and applying sealants or primers.
  • Applying paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spraying equipment (including airless spray).
  • Mixing and matching paints to required specifications and ensuring even application.
  • Working with different materials such as timber, plasterboard, concrete, and metal.
  • Ensuring all work meets high-quality standards with attention to detail and precision.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Following all safety procedures and wearing required PPE at all times.
  • Working collaboratively with other trades on-site to meet project deadlines.
  • Identifying and reporting any issues or defects to supervisors.
  • Assisting with general labouring or site tasks when required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least two years of painting experience.
  • Commercial painting experience (ideal).
  • White Card (mandatory).
  • Experience with airless paint spraying (preferred).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods, lifting, climbing ladders/scaffolding).
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers.

Please Note

  • This role is being offered on a contractor basis (ABN required).
  • The work location is Lindeman Island (not Brisbane).

About the Project

If selected for this role, you will be part of a team renovating a large hotel on Lindeman Island.

  • The hotel has been closed for several years and is the only hotel on the island.
  • This exciting project will remodel the hotel into the next No 1 holiday destination in Australia.
  • You will contribute to transforming the property into a world-class resort that thousands of guests will enjoy for years to come.
