Position Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Painter to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional looking to expand their skills and work on a wide variety of projects ranging from homes and commercial spaces to schools, hospitality venues, and healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint, repairing cracks and holes, and sanding to create a smooth, clean base for application.
- Applying paints, varnishes, stains, lacquers, and other protective or decorative finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mixing and matching paint colors and pigments to meet required specifications and ensure consistent finishes across surfaces.
- Hanging wallpaper and decorative wall coverings, ensuring accurate alignment, pattern matching, and precise trimming for a professional finish.
- Sealing and priming surfaces with appropriate preparatory coatings to ensure paint adhesion and enhance durability.
- Covering and protecting non-painted areas, such as furniture, floors, and fixtures, using masking materials, drop cloths, and tape.
- Cleaning and maintaining painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous substances.
- Coordinating with clients, supervisors, and other trades to ensure work meets quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- AQF Certificate III or IV in Painting or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of practical experience as a Painter.
- A thorough understanding of paints, materials, tools, and painting techniques
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
