- We are a committed Risk Management team responsible for developing credit policies and strategies within Business Banking Risk Appetite, automated decisioning and driving efficiencies and simplifications in credit processes to achieve excellent customer outcomes and risk reward trade-offs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fit-for-purpose reviews of the bank's non-retail capital and provisioning models, including performance monitoring and operational oversight, ensuring models are empirically robust and meet APRA and AASB 9 requirements.
- Lead decision-making on new model developments, refinements, and decommissioning, balancing regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Oversee model implementation, defining business requirements and ensuring seamless deployment and integration with business processes.
- Perform technical validation and coding tasks, using R, SQL, and R Shiny to assess model performance, extract insights and build interactive self-service dashboards and visualisations.
- Guide the team in applying best practices in statistical modeling, risk quantification, data analysis and visualisation.
- Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytical techniques to enhance model assurance, oversight, and decision-making, ensuring the bank stays at the forefront of risk management innovation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, risk teams, auditors, and regulators, providing clear insights on model risks and performance.
- Present findings in a way that balances technical accuracy with business relevance, influencing key decision-makers.
- Proactively engage with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure best-practice in modelling tools and techniques.
- Extensive experience (3 years) in IRB and AASB 9 model validation, development, or assurance in a banking or regulatory environment.
- Strong programming skills in R(preferable) or Python as well as SQL, with hands-on experience using R Shiny for data visualisation and interactive reporting.
- Strong academic background in mathematics, statistics or similar.
- Proven ability to balance technical rigor with business considerations and translate complex findings into actionable insights.
- Experience leading automation initiatives and exploring AI-driven approaches for model oversight.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
- A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and long-term planning.
- Lead high-impact work on IRB and AASB 9 models in a major Australian bank.
- Be at the cutting edge of risk model oversight, driving automation and AI adoption.
- Work with a collaborative and expert team in a dynamic risk management landscape.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and regulators, shaping the bank's model governance strategy.
