Overview
Our client is searching for a Data Analyst who specialises in Finance to support the Accounts and Finance team. This is not your typical finance role—you'll combine high-level financial skills with digital tools, process improvement, and team collaboration to make a tangible impact.
If you enjoy analysing data, creating dashboards, streamlining workflows, and empowering others to work smarter, you'll fit right in. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role in a team that values innovation, accuracy, and efficiency.
About the Role
You'll be the go-to person for managing government funding transactions, reconciliations, and reporting, while driving digital adoption and process improvements across the finance team. Your insights and tech skills will directly improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in day-to-day operations.
What you'll do:
- Lead high-volume funding transactions, claims, and General Ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support claims processing during staff absences, keeping operations running smoothly
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reporting tools, and finance automation solutions
- Deliver training and guidance to the team, helping colleagues adopt digital finance tools
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate repetitive tasks, boosting overall efficiency
Success in this role looks like:
- Smooth, accurate processing of high-volume transactions
- Increased adoption of digital tools and dashboards by the finance team
- Strong cross-team collaboration and faster issue resolution
- Documented process improvements that stick
About You
You're a finance professional who's equally comfortable diving into numbers and building digital solutions. You see opportunities to make things better, solve problems creatively, and share your expertise with others.
You'll bring:
- Finance Operations Expertise: Experienced with funding claims, GL reconciliations, and high-volume transactions
- Digital Know-How: Skilled in Power BI, Excel Power Tools, dashboards, and finance automation
- Process Improvement Mindset: Proven ability to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance efficiency
- Analytical Skills: Comfortable working with large datasets, spotting trends, and solving problems with accuracy
- Collaborative Spirit: Strong communicator who can train and support colleagues, foster cross-team adoption of digital tools, and work collaboratively
