Our client, a leading player in the retail banking sector, is seeking an experienced
Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst
to join their data and analytics team on a strategic project.

You'll play a vital role in designing and maintaining robust data pipelines, enabling self-service analytics, and delivering key insights across products like debit cards and transaction accounts. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to bridge data and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based data pipelines
  • Curate and structure data for reporting and self-service analytics (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Tableau)
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., APRA, RBA)
  • Deliver portfolio and customer-level reporting across core banking products
  • Conduct RBA data analysis, QMR reporting, and market share assessments
  • Perform customer segmentation and behavioral analysis
  • Translate business requirements into structured datasets and dashboards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across product and portfolio teams

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years working in data engineering or analytics roles
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience building robust data models
  • Proficiency with BI tools like ThoughtSpot or Tableau
  • Exposure to large datasets in banking or financial environments
  • Experience with RBA/QMR reporting and portfolio analytics
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in retail banking (debit cards, savings, transaction accounts)
  • Familiarity with APRA/RBA reporting frameworks
  • Knowledge of customer behavior analytics and segmentation
  • Understanding of data governance and regulatory compliance
