About The Role
The Senior Financial Accountant is a hands-on role responsible for leading the month-end process, delivering accurate and compliant financial reporting, and supporting executive decision-making through clear analysis and sound accounting judgement.

The role is suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical accounting with broader business engagement, and who takes pride in contributing to a strong governance and control environment. It offers variety through ad-hoc challenges, deep dives into complex issues, and proactive support to the Finance Manager across a wide range of priorities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory reporting.
• Manage month-end journals, reconciliations and reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and integrity of ledger data.
• Support external audit, including preparing workpapers, responding to auditor queries and addressing findings.
• Research and advise on accounting treatments for ad-hoc transactions, ensuring compliance with evolving standards.
• Prepare tax-effect accounting calculations and contribute to annual tax returns and assurance activities.
• Partner with the Finance Business Unit and broader business partnering team to provide oversight and guidance on accounts below EBITDA, interest calculations, fuel facility reporting and broader finance and sustainability matters.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, controls and documentation.
• Assist with finance transformation projects, system upgrades and automation initiatives.
• Provide oversight on ESG reporting, with a focus on introducing and embedding sustainability standards through the collection and analysis of finance-related sustainability data

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. CA, CPA or similar)
• Proven ability to lead financial reporting processes and manage audits.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, control frameworks and financial systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Able to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Collaborative and process-minded, with a continuous improvement mindset.
