Summary:

As a Recovery Officer in our Property Recoveries team, you will play a crucial role in managing pre-litigated recovery claims for damages to our customers' property. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the financial services industry, specifically within claims management. You will investigate incidents and pursue resolutions that balance commercial interests with customer satisfaction and legal considerations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of property recovery claims from initiation to resolution.
  • Issue tailored written demands to third parties, clearly outlining liability based on the unique facts of each case.
  • Conduct outbound calls to third parties and insurers to pursue recoveries.
  • Review technical reports (e.g., building, plumbing, electrical) to assess liability.
  • Confirm quantum by matching quotes to invoices and verifying documentation of damage.
  • Use internal and external tools to locate contact and insurance details.
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes regarding liability and quantum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Entry-level experience in customer service or claims management is desirable but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Basic understanding of property insurance principles is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation purposes.
