We're looking for a permanent, full-time External Communications Advisor to join our hybrid team, ideally based in Melbourne. While Melbourne is preferred, we're open to interstate candidates who are the right fit for the role.

This position plays an important role in shaping Aussie Broadband's external communications strategy in close collaboration with stakeholders across the business. You'll be instrumental in strengthening and safeguarding Aussie's reputation with our customers and the broader public, ensuring our messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with our values.

Let's talk about you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or similar
  • 4–5 years' experience in external comms or PR, ideally with customer-facing work
  • Strong writing skills with a Plain English style
  • Excel at stakeholder management and building strong relationships across the business
  • Great communicator who can engage diverse audiences
  • Detail-oriented, logical, and organised
  • Confident using digital tools and working both independently and in a team
  • Aligned with Aussie Broadband's values and decision-making approach

  • Comfortable analysing data to support decisions
  • Creative thinker who challenges the status quo
  • Experience managing website content and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)

  • Create and deliver communication strategies aligned with business goals and audience needs
  • Write and edit content including articles, customer updates, and digital materials
  • Lead customer communication plans in partnership with Product and Customer Service teams
  • Support cross-functional campaigns and projects with clear, consistent messaging
  • Assist with crisis communications to protect and strengthen Aussie Broadband's reputation
  • Build strong internal relationships to help share wins and boost brand visibility
  • Be a collaborative and supportive member of the Corporate Affairs team
