We're growing across Australia and New Zealand, and we're looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the charge in expanding our client and partner base.

About the Role

As our BDM, you'll be the driving force behind our growth in the ANZ region. You'll identify new opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and connect clients with the right KangaSys solutions. You'll work closely with our technical and delivery teams to create proposals that solve real problems. This is a remote-first role, with flexibility to work from home and travel to client sites or industry events when needed. You can be based across Australia (Sydney/Melbourne preferred).

What You'll Do

  • Prospect and engage new clients across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned with company growth goals
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand client challenges and recommend tailored solutions
  • Develop proposals, deliver presentations, and coordinate demonstrations with technical experts
  • Lead tenders and build partnerships with consultants, facility managers, and sustainability teams
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Represent KangaSys with integrity, professionalism, and a solutions-first mindset

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 3 months: a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and new sector leads
  • Within 6 months: new customer wins or channel partnerships secured
  • Consistent achievement of quarterly revenue and engagement targets
  • Clients view you as a trusted partner who brings real value, not a transactional salesperson
  • You actively shape how KangaSys positions itself in the market

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years' experience in business development, account management, or solution sales within Building Automation, Smart Building, Energy Management, or Sustainability Tech
  • Familiarity with NABERS, Green Star, or ESG frameworks is highly valued
  • Proven ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles and close complex deals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong presentation and proposal-writing ability
  • Comfortable working remotely, self-directed, and organised
  • Based in Australia, with flexibility to travel across client sites in ANZ

Compensation

Total OTE: AUD 160,000 (with accelerators for overperformance)
