About the role
KangaSys is looking for an energetic and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you'll identify new business opportunities, build client relationships, and take our next-generation Building Enterprise and Sustainable Solutions to market.
You'll work remotely with the flexibility to manage your week, visiting client sites or industry events as needed.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Generating and converting new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors
- Building and managing a strong pipeline aligned with company growth goals
- Conducting discovery meetings to understand client needs and tailoring proposals
- Delivering presentations and demonstrations with support from our technical experts
- Preparing tenders and partnership proposals
- Staying across market trends, competitors and sustainability standards (NABERS, Green Star, ESG)
- Meeting quarterly sales targets while nurturing long-term client relationships

Skills and experience
- 7+ years' experience in business development or solution sales, ideally in Building Automation, Smart Building, Energy or Sustainability Tech
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems, HVAC, Fire, Access Control and CCTV solutions
- Familiarity with sustainability standards such as NABERS or Green Star
- Proven record achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Strong client engagement, negotiation and presentation skills
- Confidence using CRM and prospecting tools (HubSpot, Apollo, or similar)
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
