Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage traffic within the tipping and recycling yard to ensure safe vehicle and pedestrian movement.
  • Assist with tipping, unloading, and sorting of recyclable and waste materials.
  • Support machine operators and truck drivers during loading and unloading activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
  • Carry out general labouring duties including manual handling, sweeping, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with the Yard Supervisor, drivers, and team members.
Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour in outdoor conditions.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow safe work procedures.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Traffic control experience, with a current traffic control ticket highly regarded.
  • Previous experience working in a recycling, waste, or yard operations environment.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques.
Work Environment
  • Outdoor yard environment, subject to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to trucks, machinery, and waste/recycling materials.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
