Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: Under the direction of the Regional Manager, responsible for the joint operational management of Kimberley Mental Health & Drug Service (KMHDS) programs in conjunction with relevant Coordinators, Team Leaders and the Clinical Director. Manages the financial, physical and human resources and day to day operational requirements of the Kununurra and Halls Creek offices. Facilitates an advanced level of community mental health and alcohol and drug services based on best practice, including providing a service which is culturally secure and takes into account the emotional, social and spiritual well-being of Aboriginal clients.
Area Profile: WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health and support staff.
