An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to oversee the delivery and evaluation of the Change Em Ways (CEW) men's behaviour change and Dijun Way primary prevention Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) programs in Broome and across other identified locations in the Kimberley. The CEW and Dijun Way programs are focused on increasing the safety of women and children through addressing and reducing the incidence of family and domestic violence. This role also sits on the MOSAC Leadership Team, contributing to the governance, strategic planning and oversight of the organisation as a whole. The role is Broome based, with regular overnight travel.

A fixed term contract is available until 31st December 2026, with the likelihood of extension. The position will become vacant in early December (with a 2-week handover period) due to the planned re-location of a long-term staff member.

The duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Oversee and support the delivery and evaluation of culturally appropriate programs for clients, family members, young people and community groups across identified locations in the Kimberley
  • Provide strong leadership to the CEW and Dijun Way programs' teams, overseeing and managing clinical quality and compliance standards for the programs
  • Support staff in completing family violence risk assessments and intakes for the programs, and provide oversight of high-risk client work, ensuring best practice and documentation of case notes, in line with MOSAC policy and procedures
  • Ensure line management supervision and support is extended to all staff involved in program delivery, the case management of clients, and project work relating to the programs
  • Oversee and manage referral pathways, client assessments, case management and evaluation processes, working effectively to maintain supportive, co-operative and positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Liaise with other staff including the MOSAC Cultural Reference Group to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that the team's practice is culturally secure, in the Kimberley Indigenous context
  • Complete written reports in a timely manner and ensure all funding obligations are met
  • Participate in MOSAC Leadership Team meetings, lead FDV team meetings and represent the program and MOSAC at key stakeholder forums

The person we seek

To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities:

  • Significant experience managing a multi-disciplinary team, working successfully with Aboriginal staff
  • Understand the issues, services and legislation affecting the delivery of FDV men's behaviour change and primary prevention programs, including case management
  • Skills and capacity to engage with government and non-government stakeholders relevant to the programs
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook / email
  • Experience in the successful delivery of funded programs to achieve an evaluated outcome delivery
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the Kimberley cultural context
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply

Qualifications and / or training:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Social Work, Community Services etc)
  • Extensive previous experience in FDV work
  • Training in program delivery and trauma informed practice
  • Current WA "C" class drivers' license
  • Ability to undertake all training required for MOSAC staff.

What we offer

$115,000 -$123,000 per annum, pro rata as per the duration of the contract (approx. 12 with likelihood of extension), 5 weeks Annual Leave with 17.5% loading per annum, Not for Profit generous Salary packaging which includes remote housing benefits, Anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional 3 days leave at Christmas and 2 days Mental Health leave, option for a 9-day fortnight, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.
