We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Business Development Executive to drive growth across Victoria and New South Wales, specifically but supporting growth nationally for our rapidly expanding portfolio of AI-driven and digital asset intelligence solutions. This role will focus on developing opportunities with utilities, councils, and large commercial clients seeking to optimise their water and infrastructure performance through digital transformation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and ideally a solid understanding of the water sector or infrastructure services environment. The role is part time, with a hybrid and flexible working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within utilities, councils, and commercial infrastructure operators across VIC and NSW.
- Promote our suite of AI, analytics, and digital solutions for asset performance, leak detection, and network optimisation.
- Build strong and trusted relationships with client decision-makers and influencers.
- Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to shape solution offerings, proposals, and demonstrations.
- Manage a healthy sales pipeline and report regularly on progress and opportunity forecasts.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain a clear understanding of market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory drivers in the utility and water sectors.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in business development or account management within technology, digital, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience selling industrial software solutions — ideally asset management, maintenance, field operations, or digital twin systems used by utilities, councils, or service providers.
- Water industry exposure (utility, council, or service provider) strongly preferred; experience engaging with operations, maintenance, or engineering teams is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate technical concepts (AI, data-driven decision tools, asset intelligence) in practical terms to both operational and executive audiences.
- Proficiency in consultative and value-based selling, including navigating complex procurement and public-sector decision processes.
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid or remote environment, managing pipeline, and reporting progress in CRM.
- Familiarity with CRM and collaboration tools (Aptivo, Teams, etc.).
- A self-starter who thrives in an innovation-driven, customer-focused environment, with curiosity about AI, data, and industrial automation.
