Our fantastic facilities in Merriwa, Karri & Tuart Lodge and Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge, are looking for an out-of-the-box and forward-thinking Therapy Assistant As a Therapy Assistant with RAAFA, you will work closely with both the Lifestyle Coordinator and the Occupational Therapist to assess resident's needs and preferences to develop appropriate one-on-one or group programs, assist in the development and delivery of group and individual therapies and note changes in resident's well-being and advise staff of these. A Therapy Assistant with RAAFA is always involved in the continuous improvement of the service.

This role as a Therapy Assistant will see you:

• Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
• Assist in assessing resident's needs and preferences and help develop appropriate programs in relation to the individual.
• Supervise volunteers who are assisting with the program.
• Complete documentation and reporting in relation to the role.
• Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.

About you:

• Possess a Certificate III in Allied Health or hold a similar qualification.
• Previous, demonstrated experience working in Residential Aged Care.
• Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proactive with a positive 'get up and go' attitude.
• Flexible with start and finish times.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
• Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
• Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
