The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Senior Communications Partner to be part of our Industry Strategy & Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The Senior Communications Partner reports to the Marcomms Lead, leading high level strategic communications in partnerships with business areas across the agency. The Senior Communications Partner is an experienced all-rounder, multi-tasking as a matter of course and responsible for developing and delivering detailed communications plans and activities that deliver best-practice and innovative communication and digital services that promote the varied initiatives, projects and programs of the agency and its key stakeholders.

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Senior Communications Partner is strategic, agile and adaptable and is able to quickly determine the most appropriate communications activities and output to achieve optimal outcomes and align to the strategic priorities of the government and department.

This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and coordination of effective strategies and activities requiring effective engagement with diverse stakeholders, exceptional verbal and written communication skills and creative flair to ensure engaging communications reach intended audiences.

As a skilled, experienced professional, the Senior Communications Partner identifies communications requirements in collaboration with business areas and utilises the skills of the broader Communications Branch to effect desired outcomes.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.

  • Opportunity up to June 2026

  • Part-Time hours of 18.75 per week.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive

  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required

  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.

  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

  • Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in marketing, public relations or communications or a related role, or significant experience in a similar role, preferably within the public sector.

Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum, plus superannuation
