The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Communications Partner (Forestry) to be part of our Industry Strategy & Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The Communications Partner (Forestry) is part of the Communication Branch, reporting to the Team Lead, Communications. This team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to deliver best-practice and innovative communication and digital services across the Department of Primary Industries and Regions. This role is focused on delivering high-level communications with a focus on activities for forest industries.

The Communications Partner is focused on communications supporting the National Forest Policy Statement review. This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and coordination of effective strategies and activities requiring effective engagement with diverse stakeholders, exceptional verbal and written communication skills and creative flair to ensure engaging communications reach intended audiences.

As a skilled, experienced professional, the Communications Partner (Forestry) identifies communications requirements in collaboration with the forest industries project team and utilises the skills of the broader Communications Branch to effect desired outcomes.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.

  • Part-Time opportunity of 18.75 hours per week

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive

  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required

  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.

  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

  • Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in marketing, public relations or communications or a related role, or significant experience in a similar role, preferably within the public sector.

Remuneration
ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max per annum, plus superannuation
