What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and reviewing complex income tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships and corporate entities
  • Providing strategic tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax optimisation
  • Researching and interpreting relevant tax legislation, case law and Australian Taxation Office rulings
  • Liaising with clients, the Australian Taxation Office and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance
  • Mentoring and training more junior members of the tax team
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our tax services and internal processes

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of experience in a tax accounting role, preferably within a public practice environment
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification (or study in progress for either)
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate and individual taxation, including income tax, GST, FBT and other relevant legislation
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients
  • Proven experience in managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
