Client Manager, National (Construction)

An exciting opportunity to join the Construction Industry Practice Group (IPG), the first practice group of its kind to span all of Aon.

A growth Client Segment within Aon Risk Solutions, the Construction IPG specializes in the provision of exceptional Insurance and Risk Management Services to a broad portfolio of construction and contractor related organisations on both an annual and project specific basis.

The Client Manager is responsible for service delivery, advice and bringing all of Aon to mid market clients and is considered a key driver to our long-term growth ambitions in this segment.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually (up to 2 days a week) and from our Aon Sydney office.

What the day will look like

  • Managing key clients within the construction portfolio
  • Providing a high level of client service to enable effective client relationship management
  • Providing technical advice to clients in the broader National team that have a specific construction need
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Construction IPG
  • Manage daily client enquiries pertaining to the management of their risk and insurance programs, including claims
  • Identifying development opportunities for the portfolio and designing appropriate servicing solutions
  • Achieving budgeted revenue for retention, and growth on existing and new business
  • Gathering client information to enable renewal negotiations, calculating premiums, binding covers, and preparing invoices and follow-up documentation with clients
  • Working with our Client Service Support, Broking, Claims and the wider Aon Global network to deliver optimised outcomes for clients
  • Providing mentorship to support staff.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience and success servicing a portfolio of clients. Key requirements include:

  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills with exceptional communication abilities
  • Extensive experience within the insurance market managing a portfolio of clients
  • Strong technical understanding of a broad range of insurance products and risk solutions
  • Experience working with contractors
  • Excellent cross selling abilities
  • Experience dealing with local & global insurance markets, including Lloyd's
  • A high level of understanding of client profitability
  • A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flare for business development
  • Exceptional and pro-active client relationship management capabilities, which includes attracting, retaining and growing clients
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point products
  • A high degree of resilience and an outcome focused approach.
