About the role:

This 6-month maternity leave contract reports to the Senior Financial Accountant and works closely with the other team members. You will manage an Assistant Accountant and be responsible for a variety of tasks, ensuring they are  correctly reconciled and in a timely manner.

How you will add value:

General

  • Work collaboratively across the entire team
  • Liaise with Business Unit Managers to drive process improvement (in particular Concur related projects and possibly Certinia FRB)
  • Liaise and partner closely with all levels of stakeholders
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests

Management and Board Reporting

  • General Journal preparation and processing such as month end accruals, including preparation of the ECL provision
  • Assist preparation of month end reports including:

  • Monthly Profit and Loss

  • Board pack
  • Expense analysis
  • Review Corporate credit card expenses and reconciliations
  • Together with other team members, assist with the monthly General Ledger Balance Sheet reconciliations and associated supporting work papers to ensure all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner
  • Generate and analyse sales and credit note reports on a weekly and monthly basis for various stakeholders
  • Monitor and ensure Zuora journal batches (revenue system) have been processed correctly into Certinia and resolve any errors on a daily basis
  • Manage the billing process related to the Bunnings partnership and reconcile the associated clearing account (weekly)
  • Review daily cash flow reports
  • Collect and analyse data used in the preparation of regular estimates and judgment papers for ARC
  • Assist with budget and quarterly forecasts for the Australian business

Compliance

  • Financial Reporting

  • AASB 16 Leasing schedules (key responsibility)

  • AASB 15 Revenue
  • AASB 137 Provisions and contingencies (expected credit loss provision)
  • AASB 138 Intangible assets
  • Assist with the Half Year and Year End statutory reporting obligations including ASX4E, ASX4D, investor presentation and media release
  • Coordinate delivery of external audit requests (key contact)
  • Provide advice as required on technical accounting matters including :
  • Assist with preparation of the Annual Report

ABS Reporting:

  • Compile and process all relevant statistical information including returns to the ATO and ABS

Tax

  • ITR - assist as needed
  • BAS - review inputs
  • FBT - work with the Assistant Accountant for early planning and data collection

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of previous working experience in a similar environment (post qualification)
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with both financial and non-financial audiences
  • Deadline-oriented and the ability to work with tight time constraints
  • Possesses well developed and accurate numerical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Certina (previously known as FinancialForce) is highly valued
  • Strong data analysis, reporting and interpretation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong reconciliation skills
