ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will coordinate testing activities across major project data migration, application development and system integration streams. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting. The Test / QA Specialist will ensure alignment with the unified test strategy and maintain independence from the development team to uphold objectivity and quality assurance standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Executing test strategies.
- Coordinating test case development and execution using Xray and Jira.
- Facilitating collaboration between the test team, data migration team, and application developers.
- Conducting pre-System integration Testing (SIT) quality assurance on development deliverables, including smoke screen testing.
- Managing defect triage, tracking, and resolution processes.
- Providing regular test progress reports to Project Managers and Steering Committees.
- Support of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution, ensuring readiness and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintenance of test documentation and ensuring traceability to business and technical requirements.
- Ensuring test data and environment readiness in collaboration with data migration and infrastructure teams.
- Contribute reusable test cases and documentation for UAT preparation.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Proficiency in writing test cases and using test management tools such as Xray and Jira.
- Proven experience in software testing, QA coordination, or test management.
- Strong understanding of test lifecycle phases including SIT, UAT, and smoke testing.
- Familiarity with issue tracking systems and defect management processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across development, testing, and project teams.
- Ability to maintain independence from development and solution design teams.
- Experience on government projects or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with data migration testing and application integration.
- Understanding of Agile and hybrid delivery models.
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
