Overview

Assurance Specialist role at Suncorp Group

Lead Commercial & Personal Injury Portfolio assurance, ensuring insurance products are robust, compliant and tailored to today's dynamic market.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, directly shaping risk frameworks and governance for products distributed through Vero, GIO and AAMI.
  • Be at the centre of initiatives that enhance risk maturity, contract management, and product governance.
  • Identify and manage insurance risks, ensuring the business remains within Board-approved risk tolerances.
  • Develop, maintain and refine governance frameworks and standards, embedding robust controls and uplifting assurance practices.
  • Lead the response to regulatory and audit requests, ensuring data and processes meet high standards.
  • Drive accountability and commitment to the delivery of key controls and governance, and proactively review adherence to provide assurance up the line.
  • Enhance incident management and support continuous improvement of the risk operating rhythm.
What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years' experience in insurance product, risk, compliance, or legal roles with deep knowledge of commercial insurance products and assurance activities.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to drive governance actions into BAU.
  • Problem-solving mindset, innovation, and continuous improvement, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of Commercial Insurance products, risks, regulatory change and market environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading programs of work to achieve strategic goals.
