About the Role
Our client is seeking a Graduate Cost Accountant to join their team. You may have completed your Business or Accounting degree or be close to finishing. This role will report directly to the Management Accountant.
You will have a strong work ethic and be able to work both autonomously & as part of a team. You must be reliable, motivated, with good organisational & communication skills & be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Analysing job costing data to support operational decision-making
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes
* Assisting with inventory control and month-end processes (journal entries, reconciliations)
* Assist with tax and compliance reporting
* Assist in identifying cost variances, analysing cost performance, and contributing to cost-improvement initiatives
* Providing day-to-day support to the Management accountant and broader Accounting team.
Skills and Experience
* Some experience with accounting software
* Confident with Microsoft Excel
* Understanding of GST and Australian taxation basics
* Experience in carrying out bank and other account reconciliations.
* Experience with management reporting and analysis
* Being responsive and flexible, whilst using your developing accounting skills to meet organisational demands, decision making and regular reporting
* Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude and data analysis skills.
