Chisholm is seeking an experienced Educator Development Specialist to join our Professional Educator College Department. Full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2026 on offer.

ABOUT THE ROLEThe Educator Development Specialist is a senior specialist role responsible for leading the strategic design, development, facilitation, and evaluation of a professional learning journey for offshore vocational education and training (VET) educators, with a primary focus on China.

This position sits within the Professional Educator College (PEC) and supports Chisholm's Strategic goal to lead an environment of educational excellence locally and globally.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, the role applies advanced theoretical and operational knowledge to develop innovative, culturally responsive digital learning resources and experiences. The incumbent will conduct training needs analysis, pilot and evaluate learning solutions, and facilitate online and in-person components of the program, including hosting study tour groups. The role requires strategic planning, high-level consultation with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to influence and lead educational innovation across international contexts.

This is a fixed-term, project-funded role. The Yes to International Students Fund (YISF) is a government initiative supporting Victorian Universities and TAFEs to deliver more offshore education by providing funding to develop and grow innovative international partnerships. The project contributes to a multi-year learning journey that includes asynchronous workshops, potential study tours to Australia, and a capstone project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and development of a multi-year professional learning journey for offshore VET educators, aligned with strategic project objectives.
  • Create high-quality, culturally responsive digital learning resources.
  • Ensure learning materials are pedagogically sound, easily translatable, and adaptable to the Chinese vocational education context.
  • Drive innovation in learning design through the integration of GenAI tools and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
  • Conduct a comprehensive training needs analysis to identify the specific learning and development requirements of offshore educator cohorts.
  • Facilitate online delivery of the learning journey, including asynchronous workshops and interactive sessions.
  • Lead consultation and collaboration with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external partners to ensure project alignment and impact.
  • Operate as a principal specialist, influencing the professionalism and strategic direction of international learning initiatives that promote the Professional Educator College as a global leader in Educator Development.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with

  • Principal specialist experience in a VET educational discipline.
  • Teaching experience in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
  • Ability to manage workloads with competing priorities.
  • Experience in completing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills require high-level liaison and/or consultation with stakeholder areasExperience in creating and facilitating professional development workshops.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with groups of educators to identify their professional development needs.

Qualifications required for the role:

  • Relevant Degree and relevant postgraduate qualification and experience; or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience with management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education /training.
