Project Overview:

We are seeking skilled Network Infrastructure Engineers to support the upcoming IKEA Network Deployment Project in Brisbane. The role involves Access Point (AP) installation, cabling, and network setup within the store premises.

Engineers will be responsible for ensuring all installations meet technical and safety standards while maintaining high-quality performance and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Access Point (AP) mounting and bracket installation as per site design.
  • Conduct structured cabling, including patching, termination, and labeling.
  • Test and verify all network connections using cable testing tools.
  • Collaborate with remote teams via Microsoft Teams or AnyDesk for configuration assistance.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and daily progress reports.
  • Ensure proper safety, cleanliness, and quality standards on-site.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity or cabling issues as required.

Required Tools & Equipment:

Engineers must bring the following tools:

Compulsory Tools:

  • Laptop (with Teams, AnyDesk, and PuTTY installed)
  • Console cable (RJ45 to USB)
  • Screwdriver set
  • Smartphone with internet hotspot

Other Tools:

  • Crimping tool
  • Cable tester
  • Fishing rod / cable puller
  • Punch down tool
  • Drill machine
  • Label printer

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in AP installation, network cabling, and termination.
  • Understanding of LAN infrastructure, PoE switches, and network layouts.
  • Ability to read and follow network floor plans and schematics.
  • Must hold valid work authorization in Australia.
  • Availability for full project duration (1 month).
  • Commitment to work within IKEA site safety standards.

Additional Information:

  • Work will commence once Aruba AP brackets are delivered to the site.
  • Travel compensation may apply if working outside local radius.

Team collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Note: If an engineer is not selected for the IKEA project, they will still be eligible for other freelance projects and field tasks with Tech Domain based on their profile and availability.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
