Job details

Automated Test Engineer will be responsible for the design, build, testing, deployment and maintenance of effective test automation solutions from the ground up. This includes owning the automation framework, tooling decisions and rollout across multiple delivery streams (CRM, data analytics, cyber, IT service management, etc.). The agency currently has no established IT or BAU team. This role will lead test automation efforts during the program phase and progressively support handover to future BAU operations.

Key duties and responsibilities

The Commission is seeking to engage a suitably qualified 
Automated Test Engineer
. This is a greenfield program with no pre-existing testing automation capability. This role will be responsible for the design, build, testing, deployment and maintenance of effective test automation solutions from the ground up. This includes owning the automation framework, tooling decisions and rollout across multiple delivery streams (CRM, data analytics, cyber, IT service management, etc.).

The agency currently has no established IT or BAU team. This role will lead test automation efforts during the program phase and progressively support handover to future BAU operations.

• Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Undertake test automation projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT teams / experts
• Contribute to the development and implementation of test automation strategies and plans and develop test scripts
• Execute / trigger test cases in accordance with agreed strategy /plan and timeframes
• Analyse and review test automation results, modify tests where necessary and provide reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues and recommendations for improvement
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT teams / experts to discuss test results and ensure that issues / problems that arise during test automation are resolved efficiently undertake manual testing, when appropriate
• Qualifications / Experience
  :
• Experience in implementing and maintaining Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) automated testing frameworks, based on defined test strategy and plan
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Typescript, and Javascript
• Experience in automated test tools, mainly for AWS hosted applications
• Experience in API testing such as Postman
• Experience in load testing automation
• Experience in triggering the execution of automated tests in a CI such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
• (Desirable) Experience in setting up UI and accessibility testing

Mandatory requirement

• Baseline security clearance is required. NV1 security clearance may be required.
