About the Role
The Sustainability Officer is responsible for gathering data related to the organisation's environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices. This may involve collecting information on energy consumption, waste generation, carbon emissions, diversity and inclusion metrics, and other sustainability indicators. They may also analyse these data to identify trends, assess performance, and track progress towards sustainability goals.
Duties include but not limited to
- Support the development and implementation of ESG strategies, goals, and targets aligned with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Collect, compile, and validate ESG data from various internal and external sources, including financial reports, sustainability disclosures, and third-party databases.
- Prepare and produce sustainability reports, disclosures, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present ESG-related reports, presentations, and communications materials for internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections, audits, and inquiries.
- Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into business practices and operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, reports, and investigations.
- Track and report on key performance indicators related to environmental compliance and sustainability goals.
Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Awareness of current trends and challenges in the field of sustainability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in science or sustainability

What You Should Know About Our Operations
Our business is widespread, growing walnuts, almonds and bees in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
