About The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Safety Project Officer to join our Safety, Development and Training team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you will support the development, coordination, and delivery of key Work Health and Safety (WHS) projects and initiatives that promote a proactive safety culture and ensure legislative compliance. Key focus areas will include project coordination, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and supporting change management activities across Council.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a WHS role within a medium-to-large, complex, and high-risk organisation.
  • Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety and strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and best practice.
  • High-level interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills to build positive working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering training and preparing reports.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging conversations, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or other relevant training/education qualifications highly desirable.
