Your employer is a leading Fresh Produce company with operations across Australia and internationally. The Wholesale Markets division operates within seven categories, including market-based sales through sites in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. They are committed to innovation, sustainability, and supporting Australian farmers.

We are seeking a dynamic Salesperson to manage a fresh produce category (e.g tomatoes, berries, avocados) from end-to-end. This role involves procurement, sales, returns, and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Success in this role relies on deep relationship management, business development skills, resilience, and a proactive, accountable approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage, and maintain business relationships with customers, growers, and suppliers
  • Drive new sales and identify growth opportunities
  • Ensure the Sales Support Team maximises sales within the existing customer base
  • Manage customer expectations and monitor operational service levels
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in budgeting processes
  • Train and support a high performance Sales Support Team
  • Attend sales meetings, visit grower sites, and participate in industry events
  • Manage stock levels and positioning to entice sales and meet customer demand
  • Support the State Manager and step up when they are unavailable

Key requirements for success in this role:

  • Current commercial relationships with growers and or buyers in the Australian Fresh Produce sector (Fruit and Veg)
  • Self-driven, accountable, and commercially focused
  • Calm, resilient under pressure, and adept at handling complex logistics
