Your New Opportunity:

We have and exciting opportunity for an experienced Platform Operations Manager to join our Defence Programmes Group (DPG) in Henderson, WA. You'll be the on-the-ground expert for the Arafura Class platforms, leading the planning and coordination of maintenance at key national Defence hubs including Fleet Base West, Darwin and Cairns.

This is a vital leadership role with broad scope - perfect for someone with platform or technical project experience who's ready to take ownership and drive performance across major Defence sustainment programs.

In this role you will:

• Oversee the planning and delivery of maintenance activities for Arafura Class platforms.
• Liaise with Defence stakeholders, project teams, and industry partners to coordinate availability periods.
• Manage urgent remediation and support activities (including overseas deployments).
• Ensure mission system budgets and schedules are met, monitored and reported.
• Provide a vital point of contact for Commonwealth agencies, SPO, and support contractors,
• Support planning staff and technicians to maintain schedules and ensure quality standards.
• Maintain and update platform documentation technical procedures and instructions.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure continuity and satisfaction.
• Identify efficiency opportunities and mitigate risks to service delivery.

About you:

• 5 years in customer or stakeholder management, preferably in Defence or Government.
• Strong experience managing maintenance and planning activities for mechanical platforms.
• Working knowledge of MTU1163 series engines and Sauer compressors is advantageous.
• Excellent understanding of Defence culture and project management processes.
• Experience working with SPO and Defence stakeholders at senior levels.
• Familiarity with ISO Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
• Be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1.
