The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Mental Health - Acacia) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Be responsible for the daily coordination of the nursing workforce through the management of allocated resources and delegation of duties
  • Contribute to development of team capability and application of evidence based theory into practice support
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager with effective functioning of the Unit including relieve duties as required
  • Deal positively with uncertainty or conflict, cope effectively in a changing environment and respond constructively to unpredictable challenging situations

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary part time (up to 12 months with possibility of extension, 38 hrs p.f.).
  • Base salary ranging from $ $58.30 per hour

The Acacia Acute Young Adult Inpatient Unit is an inpatient facility based in Robina Hospital offering assessment and treatment of young adults years) who are experiencing mental health issues and can no longer be managed safely in the community setting.
