About the role:

Westmont are looking for an experienced Chef to join our team based in Baranduda.

We have an ongoing full-time position available offering 4 days per week day shift (no weekends. no split shifts)

Westmont Aged Care Services is a not-for-profit organization operating a 134 bed residential aged care facility incorporating dementia care, assisted living apartments and independent living villas. Located in Baranduda, we pride ourselves on our exceptionally high standard of health and wellbeing, cleanliness and holistic care. We are seeking a qualified chef to join our busy and dedicated hotel services team on a full time basis.

Responsibilities:

The Chef/Cook is responsible to implement, monitor and evaluate a Food Safety Program, and to provide a variety of quality food and beverages to meet residents individual needs and preferences.

Westmont operates on a cook chill system and the chef's use multiple online systems for daily documentation and menu planning.

All team members will be required to:

  • Maintain a clean, pleasant, and safe working environment for residents, staff, visitors and contractors.
  • Undertake training and development in order to enhance or broaden skills and experience as required. Undertake duties as required commensurate with skills, competence and development.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Must obtain a valid Police Check
  • Trade Qualification or Commercial Cook Certificate or equivalent

  • Food Handling Course / Food Supervisors Certificate

  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate outlining Full vaccination is required inclusive of a third/booster vaccination dose, as well as a flu vaccination.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
  • Genuine interest in working with and caring for elderly people
