Salary range: $71,231 to $72,788 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.
This role contributes to the success of the City by performing effective and efficient biodiversity program field works for the City of Hobart's bushland.
Role accountabilities include:
- Deliver fire and biodiversity field activities across the City's bushland reserve system, including bushland restoration, pest/plant and animal management, fuel reduction burning, wildfire suppression, and bushfire hazard abatement.
- Assist the Team Leader in the delivery of field activities and ensure readiness for emergency incident response.
- Operate and maintain equipment and materials to enable efficient and safe delivery of field works.
- Collect and record field data, contribute to biodiversity assessments, and provide advice for policy and plan development.
- Update management and administrative systems related to work programs and resource requirements.

About youWe are seeking someone who is passionate about biodiversity and fire management, with strong practical skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
You will bring:
- Formal qualifications in Conservation and Land Management (Certificate III or Similar) or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in biodiversity conservation and bushfire/weed management field operations.
- Ability to operate small plant and machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong teamwork skills, with good written and verbal communications and problem-solving abilities.
- Current Drivers Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
