We are currently looking for a mix of casual, part time and also some shift runner positions

The Opportunity

We are seeking self-motivated dedicated Shop Assistants to provide exceptional customer service and drive store sales in our new Marleston store. This role will suit individuals who enjoy a challenge, can thrive in a fast paced physical environment and are adaptable to change.

You will be part of a large, diverse team of approximately 15 people and be responsible for having a positive impact on the results of your Cheap as Chips store by maximising sales through excellent customer service, displays and strong merchandising, ticketing, pricing, housekeeping, security, volume stock work and operating a cash register.

Looking for more of a challenge? We are also on the lookout for Shift Runners.

Shift Runners take on the responsibility of running a shift in the absence of any managers. They work as an integral part of a team and take responsibility for demonstrating company values in every customer and team interaction.

Future Store Management opportunities may be available to successful candidates who wish to progress in their career.

Skills and experience

To be successful in being selected, you must have demonstrated experience in:

• Assisting customers with buying decisions and promoting the sale of add on items
• Handling cash and process sales using EFTPOS
• Positioning merchandise to create interest and maximise sales
• Unpacking boxes and neatly stack shelves
• Keeping up to date on product ranges and individual product features.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to handle a fast paced environment
• A positive attitude and the ability to make the workplace fun

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Assisting customers with buying decisions and promoting the sale of add on items
• Cash handling and processing sales using EFTPOS
• Positioning merchandise to create interest and maximise sales
• Unpacking boxes and neatly stacking shelves as required
• Ensuring the store remains tidy and appealing to customers
• Keeping up to date on product ranges and individual product features.

Skills and experience

• The ability to work in a customer service focused role where you aim for the perfect score (or excellence)
• Proven experience in a high volume, fast paced environment will be viewed favourably; however a positive attitude and a team member who strives to sprint to the finish line every day are an absolute must
• The ability to work as part of a team and make the workplace fun
